This is one food I really missed as I couldn’t by store bought garlic bread because there was often butter in the list of ingredients. So during one particularly strong craving phase I played around and got this!
For this I use any vegan bread. I often like to eat gluten free so when I developed this very simple recipe I used gluten free pita bread.
This recipe will do around 4 small pita bread.
1 heaped tablespoon of vegan butter
1 teaspoon of purred garlic
1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon of salt
Put all these ingreadients in a saucepan and mix together while the vegan butter is melting. Keep stirring after the butter is melted until you don’t feel the salt anymore. Then leave to cool down. I then put it in a small jar and put in the fridge. Mine doesn’t go hard enoughto spread with a knife so I use a teaspoon if I’m having toasted bread or if having pita bread I use a brush to cover the top of the pita bread with the melted garlic butter and then cook the pita bread according to the instructions of the bread but if there aren’t any heating up instructions I use about 8 minutes on 200 degrees celcius.
